Home – FSSAI

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an autonomous body established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Its primary role is to regulate and oversee food safety standards in the country. The FSSAI ensures that food products sold in India are safe for consumption and meet specified quality standards, protecting public health. The authority establishes guidelines and regulations regarding food labeling, hygiene, and the prevention of foodborne diseases. It also works on improving food safety through regular inspections, audits, and public awareness campaigns. FSSAI registration and licensing are mandatory for food business operators (FBOs) involved in manufacturing, processing, packaging, and distributing food products.
